Any person aged 18 and above, who is in general sympathy with the objectives of the Association and is normally resident in A.C.T. and its surroundings is eligible for ordinary Membership of the Association, and can become one on approval by the Committee of the person's application in the form specified in Schedule 1, and payment of the annual subscription as specified in Clause 5(d). An Ordinary Member shall have voting rights in all meetings and referenda of the Association.

A member may appoint a proxy to attend and vote at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). A proxy is a member or representative of a member that is appointed to vote on behalf of another member at the AGM. This appointment is intended only for the AGM and will not be valid for any future general meetings. A proxy must be a current financial member of the India Australia Association Of Canberra . A proxy may only vote on resolutions authorized and specified in the attached form. A proxy is not entitled to vote on resolutions not authorised and specified in the attached form. A member must submit the attached proxy appointment form at least 48 hours before the AGM to the Returning Officer . Please note that only financial members are permitted to vote at the AGM and each financial member is entitled to one vote only.
